Erm... England is not one of the world's two biggest powers anymore. Hate to bust jw bubble! It just shows how clueless about the world they are. A big convention in China - now that would be something to gloat about.

I heard an interesting piece of information from a super-elder today
by Barrold Bonds intoday i attended the special assembly day (sad lol).
i overheard a conversation between an elder and another elder.
we'll call this guy a super elder because he's on all sorts of committees in the area.

this weekend's "SPECIAL TALK"....
by stuckinarut2 inok, so as most know, this is the weekend of the "special talk" .... if anyone is going to the k hall, please shaer your thoughts on what makes is "so special".... i bet it will be more recycled same same.... All I remember about every one of these talks I ever sat through was some speaker blah blah blah-ing about how terrible the world is with statistics and anecdotal information about there being more crime, war, disease, violence and immortality than ever before. I remember walking out on one because it was just so depressing!

One of my best friends, jw, kept going to the elders about her non jw sociopath husband bashing her. They just told her to be more submissive and try not to provoke him. Not a word about going to the police or leaving him for her and the kids' safety. Well, the bastard broke her back eventually. She left but now is incapacitated, with two teenage kids. I'm so mad at those elders. They failed in their duty of care for this lady and her kids.

my story is pretty much like everyone elses with little variance, but i thought id add a few details that especially tormented me when i was in.
im sure these are familiar, im afraid this is a bit of a rant.. --paradise: the constant chatter about a perfect world when most in the hall were not even slightly interested in taking care of the earth now.

Watchtower Travel Agency ???
by 4thgen inwho is making the travel arrangements for the international conventions?
i heard somewhere they did not use outside sources anymore to coordinate the airfares, etc..

I went to Myanmar for an international in 2009 and it was through Watchtower Travel. They made all the arrangements and chartered a local tour company in Myanmar to take about 100 jws around the country after the convention. We weren't allowed to make our own prep and join up with the tour later, we had to book the whole package and it was unbelievably expensive.

How will this work in Australia? There are only two conventions this year because one is international, and they're in December, way after these guys give the talks. Will the Australian jws simply see recordings of these talks? Lol to them because I, the "apostate", will know about the talks before the Australian jws will.

Most jws are nice people who've been misled. We were like that when we were jws, certainly not sociopathic. I do think, however, that many who end up in high positions are like that. It's an organization that's easy to climb if you're a man with half a brain who can turn on some charm. There are many gullible victims to be had. The worst part is, these sociopaths really do believe they are serving God and are saved.

It's often that warped sense of values jws have, that they will take all the benefits of living in a country but will not contribute by voting or giving to charity.
